What Is Postcard Design?

A postcard is a single card, often 4 × 6, 5 × 7 or 6 × 9 inches, sent without an envelope. The picture side has about two seconds to earn a turn of the card, and the back has to share its space between the message, the return details and the recipient’s address. Designing it well is mostly about deciding what goes where before anything is decorated.

  • One image and one headline on the picture side
  • Message, offer and contact grouped on the back
  • Mailing area sized to your mail house’s template

How Postcard Design Is Priced

Pricing
Custom quote

A one-sided greeting card with your photo is quicker than a double-sided offer card that needs several versions for different neighborhoods, so each job is reviewed first. The price is emailed to you once we have read the brief, before any payment.

  • Exact quote before you pay
  • One card in 24 hours, rush as fast as 6 hours (extra charge may apply)
  • PayPal, Visa or Mastercard
  • Files: print-ready PDF, AI, EPS, PNG

Mailing Several Versions?

Campaigns often split by area, season or customer group. Send the list of versions and what changes on each, and we design the master card once and quote every variation together.

  • Master card approved before variations
  • Only the offer, photo or area text changes
  • Each version named for the list it serves
  • New versions added from the same master later

Postcards belong to our print design services. For a single handout sheet see flyer design, for more room to explain try brochure design, and for a large wall version of the same message see poster design.

Why Businesses Send Their Postcards Through Us

Two sides, one plan

The picture side and the message side are designed together, so the card makes sense whichever way it lands.

Mail-ready layouts

We follow the template from your mail house or printer and keep the address and postage zones empty.

Short copy that works

We help cut the text down to one offer and one action, so the card reads in a glance.

A Brooklyn studio since 2010

Each card comes with two revision rounds, and a 100% money-back guarantee covers designs that miss the brief.

Generic postcard templates

  • Address area crowded by graphics
  • Photos stretched to fill the frame
  • Text too small to read at arm’s length
  • Layouts other senders already mailed

Postcards by our designers

  • Mailing zone left clear
  • Photos cropped for the card size
  • Type sized for a quick read
  • A card designed for your business

Example: A Just-Sold Postcard Mailing

2 sides × 3

Example: a real estate agent wants to tell three nearby streets that a house has sold and invite owners to ask for a valuation.

The brief
One exterior photo, the sale headline, the agent’s name and phone number, the brokerage logo and three street names for three versions.
What we do
We design the picture side around the house photo, lay out the back with the message and contact block, then set one version per street.
What you receive
Three print-ready PDFs at 6 × 9 inches with bleed, PNG previews, and the AI and EPS master for the next listing.

How It Works

1

Describe the mailing

Tell us the card size, the purpose and how many versions, and attach photos and your logo.

2

Approve the quote

We read the brief and email an exact price. A PayPal, Visa or Mastercard payment starts the layout.

3

Design both sides

A designer builds front and back; QC checks the mailing zone, bleed and every phone number.

4

Send to the printer

Download the PDF, AI, EPS and PNG files, with 2 free revisions if something needs changing.

Postcard Design FAQ

What is postcard design?

Postcard design is laying out both sides of a mailed card: a picture side that catches attention and a message side that holds the offer, contact details and the address area. The file is built at the exact card size with bleed, so the printer and mail house can use it as delivered.

How much does postcard design cost?

The price depends on whether the card is one-sided or two-sided, how much text and imagery it needs and how many versions you are mailing. After reading your brief we email an exact quote, and you pay only once you have approved that figure.

Which postcard sizes do you design?

We design at whatever size your printer or mail house offers, most often 4 × 6, 5 × 7, 6 × 9 and 6 × 11 inches. If they give you a template with the address and postage areas marked, send it and we build the card directly on it.

Do you print or mail the postcards?

No. We are a design studio, so we deliver print-ready files and you choose the printer or mailing service. The PDF includes bleed and crop marks, and the address side is left clear so the mail house can add names, addresses and barcodes.

How quickly can a postcard be ready?

One postcard design follows our standard 24-hour delivery, and rush can be as fast as 6 hours when a mailing date is close, with a possible extra charge. Sets with many versions get a delivery date confirmed in your quote.

Who owns the postcard design?

If you would like full ownership of the finished postcard artwork, we transfer it to you after payment. Your team or any print shop can then reuse the card next season, change the offer or mail it to a new list, with no extra permission needed from us.

How do I order a postcard?

Send the size, purpose, photos and logo through the form. Our team checks them and replies with an exact quote. Design starts once you pay by PayPal, Visa or Mastercard. Every card includes 2 free revisions, and our 100% money-back guarantee applies if the design misses the brief.

Plan Your Next Mailing

Tell us the card size and what you want people to do. We email an exact price, then start designing both sides once you approve.
