PNG to SVG, Hand-Redrawn Instead of Auto-Traced
PNG to SVG conversion at our studio means an artist redraws your PNG as clean paths rather than feeding it through a tracing script. When an online converter returns blobby letters, hundreds of stray nodes or a photo chopped into color patches, we rebuild the graphic so it cuts on a Cricut, engraves on a laser and scales on a website, from $7 per image.
- Every path drawn by a person, never auto-traced
- Small text and thin lines rebuilt to cut cleanly
- Transparent background kept, colors grouped as layers
- 24-hour delivery; 6-hour rush available
What Does PNG to SVG Conversion Involve?
A PNG is a grid of colored pixels, even when its background is transparent. An SVG describes shapes as points and curves written in XML, which is why it stays sharp at any size and why cutting machines can follow it. Turning one into the other properly means tracing the intent of the design: straight edges, true circles, readable letters and only as many nodes as each shape needs.
- Pixel stair-steps replaced by smooth Bézier curves
- Overlapping shapes merged for single-pass cutting
- Layers named by color for vinyl and HTV work

Where Online Converters Fall Short
These are the files people bring us after a converter has already let them down.
Tiny Lettering
Script fonts and taglines that a tracer fuses into blobs, redrawn letter by letter so each loop stays open.
Gradients & Shading
Soft blends that auto-trace breaks into dozens of bands, rebuilt as a few clean tones or a true vector gradient.
Photos for Cutting
Portraits, pets and scenes simplified into layered artwork that a vinyl cutter or laser can actually follow.
Cricut & Silhouette Designs
Shirt, mug and decal art set up with welded text and no hairline gaps, so Design Space imports it in one piece.
Laser & CNC Outlines
Closed single paths without overlaps or doubled lines, ready for engraving, scoring or routing.
Web & App Icons
Lightweight SVGs with tidy markup and minimal nodes for websites, apps and email signatures.
Who Brings Us Their PNGs
Makers and businesses who need an SVG that behaves, not just one that opens.
PNG to SVG Pricing
A simple single-color graphic starts at $7 per image. Multi-color layered designs, fine script lettering and photo-based artwork take more drawing and are quoted higher. We send the exact figure by email before you pay.
- Standard turnaround: 24 hours
- Rush option: 6 hours, possible surcharge
- PayPal, Visa and Mastercard accepted
- SVG plus AI, EPS, PDF, PNG; DXF on request
A Whole Craft Bundle to Convert?
Shop owners often convert a full collection at once: seasonal designs, quote sets or mascot packs. Upload the bundle, and we price every file together and keep the layer naming consistent across the set.
- One price for the full bundle
- Matching layer names in every file
- Cut-ready and print-ready versions
- Files labeled to your listing names
This work is part of our image to vector conversion service. For engraving files see laser engraving artwork; if your source is a JPG, BMP or GIF, raster to vector conversion covers it, and our SVG converter page handles PDF, AI and EPS sources.
Why Makers Choose a Hand Redraw
Cuts on the first try
No hidden stray nodes or open paths, so blades and lasers follow each shape once.
Text you can read
Letters are matched to the right font or redrawn by hand, not left as melted outlines.
Fewer nodes, lighter files
Clean geometry keeps the SVG small for websites and quick for machines to process.
A US studio since 2010
Brooklyn-based, with 40+ in-house artists, QC on every file and a money-back guarantee.
Typical online converter output
- Jagged edges and lumpy curves
- Thousands of unnecessary nodes
- Small text merged into shapes
- Gradients split into color bands
Redrawn by our vector artists
- Smooth, deliberate curves
- Only the nodes each shape needs
- Crisp, legible lettering
- Clean flat colors or real gradients
A Tumbler Quote That Finally Cuts Cleanly
Example: an Etsy seller’s PNG of a script quote turns into fused letters and broken loops in an online converter, and the Cricut cuts it into fragments.
- The brief
- Keep the lettering style, make every word cut as one piece and add a weeding box around the design.
- What we do
- An artist redraws each letter as smooth paths, welds the script so it connects, and confirms every shape is closed.
- What you receive
- An SVG ready for Design Space, plus AI, EPS, PDF and a transparent PNG for the listing photo.

PNG to SVG Questions
What is PNG to SVG conversion?
It is turning a pixel-based PNG image into an SVG built from vector paths. Our artists redraw the design by hand, so curves are smooth, text is legible and the file scales to any size. The finished SVG works in cutting machines, laser software, print layouts and websites.
How much does PNG to SVG conversion cost?
Simple one-color graphics start at $7 per image. Layered multi-color designs, detailed lettering and artwork based on photos need more drawing time and are quoted higher. Upload the PNG and we email an exact price; drawing starts once you have paid.
Why does my PNG look bad after an online converter?
Automatic converters guess at edges by color. They follow every pixel step, merge small letters and split gradients into bands, leaving thousands of nodes. A person can see what each shape is meant to be and draw it that way, which is the difference you notice when you cut or enlarge it.
Will the SVG work in Cricut Design Space?
Yes. We set the file up for Design Space: shapes closed, script welded where needed, colors on separate layers and no hairline gaps. If you use Silhouette Studio, a laser program or a CNC router instead, tell us which and we export the matching format, including DXF.
Can you keep the transparent background?
Yes, transparency carries over. Only the design itself is drawn as paths, with no background box behind it. If your PNG has a white or colored backdrop you want gone, mention it in your notes and we leave it out of the SVG.
Who owns the SVG you make from my PNG?
You do, as long as the original design is yours or licensed to you. When the order is paid, full ownership of the redrawn artwork can be transferred to you on request. You get SVG, AI, EPS, PDF and PNG files, two free revisions and our 100% money-back guarantee.
